Skiing

Grimentz has long been regarded as a magnet for serious off piste skiers but the cable car (opened in January 2014) connection by lift to Zinal in just 7 minutes transformed access from the duplex to the Zinal ski area and makes staying in Grimentz an even more attractive proposition to all standards of skier and snowboarder.

A link to the piste map is here: http://www.rma.ch/cartepistes/grimentz.php

Various off piste companies and groups have run off piste trips to the resort for some years and the Anniviers area is regularly visited by mountain guides from Verbier and resorts further afield.

The resort is also superb for children. For the younger ones it has a snow garden, easy access to nursery slopes and a mountain creche. For older children the ski schools are small and friendly and we think that the Grimentz bowl (with all slopes returning to one point) allows you to let your children ski with minimal adult supervision if they are able skiers.

We have a lot of experience bringing children to the resort and can recommend ski tecahers and ski schools depending on your requirements. Please just ask.

The key features of the village from a skiers point of view are:

- it is snow sure with skiing between 1800 and 2850 metres

- there are very few queues, even in high season

- the lift pass is reasonably priced and offers very good discounts to children and young adults

- Grimentz is now linked to Zinal by telecabine

- off piste easily accessible (see our separate page for more information)

Chris We had a fantastic stay in Grimentz. The chalet was super comfortable and we found powder to ski on long after the last snowfall. We will return!
